ÎÚÑ»´«Ã½ jazz stars come out for tribute to African Canadian artists

On June 21, the ÎÚÑ»´«Ã½ Jazz Festival and Shakura S’Aida hosted “On Their Shoulders,” a tribute to African Canadian artists who shaped ÎÚÑ»´«Ã½â€™s music scene. The multimedia concert took place at Koerner Hall and honoured such icons as Frank Wright, Archie Alleyne, Jackie Shane and Jodie Drake. Jackie Richardson, Molly Johnson, Joe Sealy, SATE, Joy Lapps and others performed, backed by an all-star band led by Eddie Bullen.
