The Civic Holiday long weekend brings a mix of closures, modified hours and plenty of open attractions in ÎÚÑ»´«Ã½ and the GTA.Â
Celebrated on the first Monday of August, the Civic Holiday — sometimes referred to as Simcoe Day in ÎÚÑ»´«Ã½ — offers a midsummer break for many, though it’s not a statutory holiday in Ontario. That means provincially regulated employers aren’t legally required to give this day off, and some businesses may stay open or operate on reduced hours.
