A Mississauga man has died after he got out of a vehicle that had collided with a truck on Hwy. 401 and was hit by the driver of a second vehicle.
The victim, 77, was in an SUV that collided with a tractor trailer on the eastbound 401 near Dixon Road around 5 a.m., OPP said in a news release.
He was then struck by the driver of passing car, investigators said. He was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Two other people were taken to hospital with minor injuries, investigators added.
“Very tragic outcome here with the person being struck on the highway,” OPP officer Kerry Schmidt
First responders and the Ministry of Transportation are assisting the OPP’s investigation.
All eastbound Hwy. 401 lanes at Dixon Road have reopened by noon after an hours-long closure Saturday morning.
“If you happened to be in that area around 5 a.m. and you saw anything or have dashcam, please call the ÎÚÑ»´«Ã½ OPP,” Schmidt said in a plea to potential witnesses.Â
