Catherine, the Princess of Wales was back for a second day of tennis at Wimbledon today to watch Jannik Sinner defeat Carlos Alcaraz in the men’s final, along with Prince William, Prince George and Princess Charlotte.
She presented the top-ranked Italian player with the trophy after he defeated Alcaraz in four sets.

While Kate was solo on Saturday, Sunday’s royal party included Kate’s husband, Prince William, and two of her children: Princess Charlotte, who joined her last year as well, and Prince George, an old hand at the tournament who’s attended since 2022. They also weren’t the only royals on the premises; Spain’s King Felipe was in the stands to watch his country’s Carlos Alcaraz, last year’s champ, take on top-ranked Jannik Sinner of Italy. Alcaraz took the first set but Sinner won the next three, and the trophy.
Celebrities watching on included Nicole Kidman, Helen Mirren, Naomi Campbell, Paul Mescal, Daisy Edgar-Jones and Orlando Bloom.Â

In a sweet touch, and a continuation of their tradition of mother-daughter dressing, Princess Charlotte’s blue hair bow matched her mother’s dress.
Kate’s accessories are noteworthy, too, particularly a new gold and diamond necklace by English jeweller Daniella Draper that retails for around $7,000. On both days, she wore the Cartier watch given to her by William over a decade ago.Â

Arriving on Saturday about an hour before the match, Kate spent some time on princess duties in the club house: Chatting with two girls chosen to do the coin tosses before games, and congratulating Wang Ziying just after she won the women’s wheelchair tennis championship.

Andrew Matthews/The Associated Press file photoWhen Kate walked into the stadium, the crowd stood and cheered as she made her way down to her front row, centre court seat. This may be a marker of the princess’ popularity, but also a reflection of the fact that her appearance didn’t feel quite as certain as it once did.
Just a few weeks ago, Kate dropped out of Royal Ascot, another royal calendar staple, citing “trying to find the right balance†as she continues to recover from cancer that was discovered during an abdominal operation last January. Adding to the poignancy, it’s one year since Kate made a rare public appearance to attend Wimbledon while still in active treatment.
On Saturday, Kate wore a new, bespoke Self-Portrait dress in a lemony-cream, not to be confused with a very similar style in lime green that she wore to Wimbledon in 2023. With a tailored top and pleated midi skirt, the silhouette was quite similar to the Dior suit she wore to welcome President Macron for the French state visit last week.
It turned out to be a surprisingly brief appearance for Kate, lasting just over an hour in the box. That was thanks to Swiatek’s swift victory, beating Anisimova 6-0, 6-0 in a straight set victory.

She grew up playing tennis, a passion she’s passing on to her children, apparently: Per Tatler, she and William put in a $100,000 AstroTurf court at their country home, and occasionally get together with acquaintance and tennis legend Roger Federer and his family to hit balls.
