Chemical spill after tractor trailer crash shuts down Hwy. 402 lanes west of London, Ont.
The OPP said no one was injured in the Wednesday collision involving the truck carrying industrial acid. A stretch of the highway’s westbound lanes are expected to be closed until early Thursday.

Health and safety concerns about a chemical spill following a tractor trailer crash have shut down lanes on Highway 402 west of London, Ont.
Police responded to the collision between a tractor trailer and a passenger vehicle about 45 kilometres west of London, just after 1 p.m. Wednesday, the OPP said in a news release.
OPP Sgt. Ed Sanchuk  statement that there were no injuries, and that the truck was transporting , an industrial acid, when it was cut off by the passenger vehicle and ended up in a ditch.Â

“As a result of public safety concerns, and health concerns, the OPP have closed the westbound lanes of Highway 402 between Centre Road to Kerwood Road,” Sanchuk said in the video, adding that the closure was expected to last until between 6 a.m. and 8 a.m. Thursday.Â
The OPP say they are working with the Ministry of the Environment to ensure the safety of all individuals.Â
