Man in hospital after police-related shooting during stolen vehicle investigation in Scarborough

An officer allegedly discharged their weapon and shot a man Thursay night, as police tried to stop the vehicle near Kennedy Road and Sheppard Avenue, York Regional Police said.

A “sequence of events” led to a man being shot after an officer allegedly discharged their weapon as police attempted to stop a suspected stolen vehicle near Kennedy Road and Sheppard Avenue on Thursday evening.


A man is in hospital with gunshot wounds after a police officer allegedly fired their gun during a stolen vehicle stop in Scarborough Thursday night. 

Ontario’s police watchdog, the Special Investigations Unit, told the Star they were en route to the scene around 9 p.m. to investigate.
