A doctor has been charged with two counts of sexual assault following incidents at a medical clinic in Markham, police say.Â
A patient reported being touched in a sexual manner while at a clinic on on July 7, York Regional Police said. The patient left the clinic immediately and contacted police, investigators said in a .
While speaking with police, the patient reported a previous incident from November 2023, where the doctor acted inappropriately during a visit to the same clinic, the release said.

At the time, the victim did not report the incident to police, believing the doctor’s conduct may have been part of a medical procedure.
A 62-year-old doctor from Whitchurch-Stouffville has been charged with two counts of sexual assault.Â
He has been a practicing physician for more than 30 years, police said, noting they believe there may be more victims.Â
“There is no statute of limitations for sexual offences and offenders can be prosecuted well after the date of the offence,” police said.
