A tornado touched down in Lucan, Ont. Monday afternoon, following weather warnings from Environment Canada.Ìý
A tornado warning was issued for London, Ont. and surrounding areas at around 3:30 p.m. and ended a short while later a post from Ìý
Shortly after, users took to social media with posts about the storm.Ìý
Brenda Hawkins as well as an image of the alert issued to her device.

“I was working away this afternoon at my office at home and heard a loud noiseÌý— like a freight train coming at the house! So LOUD!!!,” she wrote.
Hawkins also shared images of the debris scattered across a field.
The tornado was rated 0 on the EF-scale, meaning gusts were weak and caused minimal damage to the surrounding area, said Dave Sills, director of the Northern Tornados Project at Western University.Ìý
“I actually saw the tornado...and then quickly changed clothes into my NTP uniform, and then started a survey,” Sills told the Star.Ìý
This weather event can be attributed to a new air mass that made it’s way across the region ahead of a cold front. “Just enough instability and wind shear to get supercell storms,” he said.Ìý
Facebook user, Melissa Leigh, also shared photos of the storm. “We got to follow this lovely tornado that developed outside of Lucan today!! I hope everyone stayed safe out there,”
