Nissan recalls nearly 38,000 vehicles in Canada for engine issue
Nissan is recalling close to 500,000 vehicles across Canada and the U.S. for a potential bearing manufacturing defect that could cause engine damage or failure, the company says.Â

As part of a broader North American recall, Nissan and Infiniti are recalling 37,837 vehicles in Canada.
In the U.S., more than 443,000 Nissan and Infiniti vehicles were recalled, according to the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

In an email to the Star on Thursday, the company said the issue affects four models: 2021-24 Rogue, 2019-22Â Infiniti QX50, 2022Â Infiniti QX55 and one 2019-20 Altima.Â
The company says that owners of affected vehicles will receive a notification letter starting on Aug. 22, advising them to take their vehicle to a dealership for inspection and, if necessary, repairs.
Nissan told the Star that they haven’t received any reports of accidents or injuries as a result of the issues.
